
An Introduction to Safety and Security Operations
This Level 1 Course consists of six e-learning modules which introduce learners to the fundamentals of the safety and security officer role.
E-Learning
This course is accredited by Highfield Qualifications and mapped to Ofqual learning descriptors. This e-learning course can take 4-7 hours depending on the learner.
Aim
The aim of this course is to provide learners with an understanding of the key basic activities, responsibilities and skills required to perform the role of security officer with confidence and professionalism.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the module learners will be able to:
Describe general safety & security functions relevant to the role.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of legal and policy processes that govern the safety and security officer role.
Demonstrate an understanding of communication processes required for effective discharge of the safety and security officer role.
Demonstrate a basic level of digital skills to actively engage with e-learning.

Assessment
At the end of each learning lesson, there is a formative assessment, which acts as a checklist for the learner. At the end of the course, there is a summative multiple-choice quiz, which learners must pass for accreditation.
Each of the six modules can be offered as a standalone course accredited to Level 1.
This six-module course can also be delivered in-person over two days.
