
Safety and Security Operations
This Level 2 Course consists of five modules which introduce learners to key skills of the safety and security officer role.
E-Learning & Face-to-Face Modules
This course is accredited by Highfield Qualifications and mapped to Ofqual learning descriptors. The e-learning courses can take 4-7 hours depending on the learner.
Aim
To provide learners with knowledge of the key activities, responsibilities and skills required to perform the role of a Safety & Security Officer.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the module learners will be able to:
Differentiate between information & intelligence and explain theories of crime and principles of intelligence-based patrols.
Demonstrate an understanding of initial actions to be taken at an incident, explain the actions to help support victims and witnesses and identify the actions to be taken post incident.
Describe how to preserve a scene, preserve evidence, apply cordons and keep a scene log.
Define the concept of wellbeing and how it differs form mental health and illness, identify signs of poor mental health and factors that might lead to poor wellbeing.
Describe safeguarding issues as they apply to the workplace and explain the safety and security officer’s role in safeguarding. Identify types of abuse and understand safeguarding statutory duties.

Assessment
At the end of each learning lesson, there is a formative assessment, which acts as a checklist for the learner. At the end of the course, there is a summative test, which learners must pass for accreditation.
Each of the five modules can be offered as a standalone course accredited to Level 2.
This 5-module course can also be delivered in-person over three days.
